Kenneth Lee Phillips was born Feb. 22, 1940, in Tahoka, Texas, to Raymond and Georgia Phillips. He passed away in Chowchilla, CA, on Dec. 5, 2023, at the age of 83.
Kenneth worked as a mechanic for 60 years and owned and operated a gas station in Chowchilla for 35 years. He was a people-person and enjoyed family get-togethers, barbecuing, fishing, camping, joking and telling stories.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, his son Tim Phillips, and siblings: Georgia Tempele, JoAnn Johnston, Don Phillips, Paul Phillips, Jim Phillips, and Jerry Phillips. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Loretta Phillips; his children: Kenny Phillips, Shirley Medeiros, Pamela Moore, and Lisa Andrada; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; his sisters: Viola Lopez and Judy Taylor. Kenneth was very loved and will be dearly missed by all.
A Celebration of Life for Kenneth will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, at 11 a.m., at Free Will Baptist Church, 1529 Truman Avenue in Chowchilla. Arrangements entrusted to Whitton Family Funeral Service in Merced.
