Last week Michael Motz, Civil Unit Manager of the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, was honored with the California State Sheriffs’ Association Civil Employee of the Year Award, as a result of his exemplary service, dedication, and innovative contributions to our department and the wider community. He was also awarded a proclamation by CSSA for his service and input to the organization.
Motz began his career as a reserve deputy in 1994 and has served as the Civil Unit Manager for 24 years. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated unwavering commitment to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our civil operations.
Since 2003, Motz has also been a dedicated educator for the State Sheriffs’ Association, which has been instrumental in ensuring the critical function of the civil unit is upheld statewide.
