The U.S. Constitution bans another Donald Trump presidency. It’s a legal conclusion based on the Republican written original language of the postbellum Constitution.
Conservative constitutional scholars have joined liberal colleagues in proffering this legal conclusion in law review articles. They include members of the Federalist Society, the group whose members have included the six conservative Supreme Court (SCOTUS) justices.
Trump’s legal roadblock is the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, Article 3. It became law after the Civil War to protect us from anyone who had sworn an oath to protect our Constitution but then attacked it or gave comfort or aid to anyone else who attacked it. It’s still the law.
