The Friends of the Madera Animal Shelter (FMAS) had one of their vans stolen in the morning hours of September 10.

It was parked in their parking lot at 25916 Ave. 17 when thieves broke out the back window, hotwired the starter and drove the vehicle off the lot.

At this point, FMAS has no idea who stole the vehicle. A surveillance video captured the act, but the quality of the video was not clear enough to see who it was. It is believed to be two male individuals.
