For the second year in a row, the Madera Coyotes boys basketball team celebrated a 1,000-point scorer while picking up a 53-43 victory over the Madera South Stallions.
The Stallions had trouble finding the bottom of the net in the first half. They shot 11 percent (3-of-28) from the field in the first half, including 1-of-17 from 3-point range in Wednesday’s loss.
Stevie Estrada became Madera’s newest 1,000-point scorer with his 22nd point in the third quarter. He finished with 28 to lead the Coyotes. He now has 1,006 career points.
