A passing motorist called 9-1-1 to report a pedestrian lying on the side of the road on the shoulder of northbound State Route 41, just north of Road 208.
Madera California Highway Patrol units responded to the call and located the pedestrian, who was dead on scene.
The pedestrian was walking an unknown direction, possibly on the east shoulder of SR-41, north of Road 208.
