Madera Police Department officers were dispatched to the 300 Block of Washington Court regarding a male subject being accidentally shot Wednesday evening.
It was determined a former roommate of the victim was manipulating the firearm in the backyard of a residence when she negligently, and accidentally, discharged it, striking the victim.
This was an isolated incident. There was no threat to the public, and it was not gang-related. The firearm has been recovered from this incident.
