While I lay in my hospital bed at the VA hospital, waiting for the results of why I passed out in their waiting room and dreading any news (like it was going to be good news), I began to ponder.
I decided it was not my time to “check out.” I have many more accomplishments to complete. I have many more veterans to help and to continue to show them the road to a better and more fulfilling life.
I have said this before to many others like myself living with PTSD, “Having a close relative or spouse that you can talk to at any given hour, also that close friend (or battle buddy) that you can talk to and tell them things that you wouldn’t tell your spouse, to have a roof over your head, and be in fairly decent health, with food on the table and goals in life, you have got it made.” It could be a lot worse.
