DOS PALOS — The Liberty Hawks football team couldn’t do enough to counteract its ever-growing injury issues in a 29-22 loss to the Dos Palos Broncos.
The Hawks were already playing without leading rusher and starting linebacker Brody Harlow (shoulder). Then, they lost starting free safety, kick returner and receiver Dolan Dilbeck (possible concussion). The one that really hurt was the loss of Caleb Sisco (cramps), who had rushed for 110 yards through three quarters.
“We had a lot of adversity,” head coach Mike Nolte said. “I was proud of the team because they kept fighting back. When we got down, we pinned our ears back and moved the ball down the field to take the lead.”
