Redskins can't stop high-powered Panthers

Monday, November 02, 2009

By The Madera Tribune - Megan Poindexter

Washington Union made Chowchilla pay for every mistake made on Friday night at the Henry Massaro Stadium as it remained undefeated in the North Sequoia League while Chowchilla dropped to 4-4 with the 45-26 loss.

Sparked by a 21-point second quarter the Panthers were relentless on a night in which Chowchilla senior football players, band members and cheerleaders were recognized for their contributions the last four years.

Fans filled the stadium, some dressed in costumes to celebrate the Halloween weekend a little early, but outside of that, there wasn't much for the Redskins to celebrate with the on field play.

"Tonight we just didn't play well," said Chowchilla senior running back Matt Ruckman. "We couldn't stop their pass and just weren't able to contain them."
