The Madera Municipal Golf course will be closed for the next three days while renovations and improvements are made to the course and will reopen for play Thursday.
Sierra Golf Management, Inc. has taken over operation of the facility and is already making improvements to the course that will be unveiled Friday in "A Revolutionary Re-Opening," which includes a shotgun start tournament.
Check in for Friday's tournament will be at 10 a.m. followed by a ribbon cutting with the shotgun start slated for 11 a.m. Following the tournament at 4 p.m. will be an awards ceremony with hors d'oeuvres.
The tournament is open to the general public and a $50 entry fee includes green fees with cart, range balls and food and prizes.
