Drunken driver has 3 times BAC limit

Madera Police Department

Vianey Jaramillo.

A 28-year-old Madera woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI after police officers spotted the car she was driving weaving, and then witnessed her driving into oncoming lanes of traffic on north Gateway Drive, about 3 a.m. Sunday morning, near Jack in the Box.

Vianey Jaramillo failed several field sobriety tests, according to officers, reportedly had difficulty walking and a breath alcohol content reading of almost three times the legal limit.

Sgt. Nick Webster said there was really no excuse for driving under the influence. “There are many options for ride-sharing services these days and no reason for it. Call a taxi or a friend. (Driving in the oncoming lanes was especially dangerous) could have definitely caused injury or death to other drivers,” Webster said.

The car Jaramillo was driving was towed and she was booked into the Madera County jail.
