Fund-raiser to benefit historical society
Ever wonder what that old pocket watch left to you in grandpa's will is worth?
A unique fund-raiser this weekend at the Madera County Museum, 210 West Yosemite Ave., will allow residents to get an expert appraisal of their memorabilia and heirlooms for a $5 per item donation to the Madera County Historical Society.
Clovis antique dealer and a bonded estate appraiser Frank Brandow will give appraisals of antiques and similar articles from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
"People will be given a number when they check in," said Karen Elmore of the historical society. "It is a good opportunity for people to find out what their heirlooms are worth." Appraisals will be verbal only; certifications will not be given.
