Student inventor reaps value of robotics
Friday, November 06, 2009

One student on the Madera High School robotics team has found that rising to a competitive challenge can be rewarding in more ways than one.
The teenager is earning money for his college fund from a patented invention mothered by necessity, or at least convenience, during the 2009 FIRST Championship at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
During the national robotics competition, a chain on the robot kept popping off. Ranjit Chahal, then a junior, decided to solve the issue.
"My goal was to invent an easy way to get the slop out of the chain," he said.
